Why does God Make People Great? / Pourquoi Dieu rend-il les gens grands ?

 

Genesis 12:2-3

"I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing... And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

It is important to understand that any time the purpose of a thing or a cause is not understood, abuse will be inevitable. Why did God make Abraham great? God's plan was to bless all the families of the earth through him. God was not just making him great for his personal satisfaction. So, when God gives you influence, authority and greatness, it should spill over to bless others. Think of who to raise and to change the story.
The second example we will consider is David. In 2 Samuel 7:8-9 We read, "... I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel. 9 And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth."
You see, God recognizes that there are great men on the earth. He made David to be as great as them. Why did God make David Great and gave him authority and influence? So that David will rule His people. And David did well during his reign. So, it wasn't just about giving David a great name. God had His nation in mind. So, when God makes you great and gives you authority and influence, lead the people under you like David, with integrity of heart and skillfulness of hands (Psalm 78:70-72).
Lastly, Jesus was speaking to His disciples in Matthew 5 and He revealed that we are the salt of the earth and light of the world. These are two elements of global influence, very important and needed. The purpose of God making His children salt of the earth and light of the world is seen in verse 16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." So, God makes us great, He gives us authority and influence so that through us and our works, men can glorify Him. Men will see and appreciate the glory of God through His children. The glory and reputation of parents are seen in the life of the children. May the hand of God raise you in authority, power and influence in this world.

"Je ferai de toi une grande nation; Je te bénirai Et je rendrai ton nom grand; Et tu seras une bénédiction ... Et en toi toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies ."

Il est important de comprendre que chaque fois que le but d'une chose ou d'une cause n'est pas compris, l'abus sera inévitable. Pourquoi Dieu a-t-il rendu Abraham grand ? Le plan de Dieu était de bénir toutes les familles de la terre à travers lui. Dieu ne le rendait pas seulement grand pour sa satisfaction personnelle. Ainsi, lorsque Dieu vous donne de l'influence, de l'autorité et de la grandeur, cela devrait déborder pour bénir les autres. Pensez à qui élever et à changer l'histoire. 

Le deuxième exemple que nous allons considérer est David. Dans 2 Samuel 7:8-9 Nous lisons, "... Je t'ai fait sortir de la bergerie, de la suite des brebis, pour dominer sur mon peuple, sur Israël. 9 Et j'ai été avec toi partout où tu es allé, et j'ai retranché tous tes ennemis devant toi, et je t'ai fait un grand nom, comme le nom des grands hommes qui sont sur la terre." Vous voyez, Dieu reconnaît qu'il y a de grands hommes sur la terre. Il a rendu David aussi grand qu'eux. Pourquoi Dieu a-t-il fait de David un grand homme et lui a-t-il donné autorité et influence ? Afin que David gouverne bien son peuple. Et David l'avait si bien fait pendant son règne. Donc, il ne s'agissait pas seulement de donner un grand nom à David. Dieu avait Sa nation à l'esprit. Ainsi, lorsque Dieu vous rendra grand et vous donnera autorité et influence, dirigez le peuple sous votre autorité comme David, avec un cœur intègre et des mains habiles (Psaume 78 : 70-72). 

Enfin, Jésus parlait à ses disciples dans Matthieu 5 et il a révélé que nous sommes le sel de la terre et la lumière du monde. Ce sont deux éléments d'influence mondiale, très importants et nécessaires. Le but de Dieu faisant de Ses enfants le sel de la terre et la lumière du monde est vu au verset 16, "Que votre lumière brille ainsi devant les hommes, afin qu'ils voient vos bonnes œuvres et glorifient votre Père qui est dans les cieux." Alors, Dieu nous rend grands, Il nous donne l'autorité et l'influence afin qu'à travers nous et nos œuvres, les hommes puissent Le glorifier. Les hommes verront et apprécieront la gloire de Dieu à travers Ses enfants. La gloire et la réputation des parents se voient dans la vie des enfants. Que la main de Dieu vous élève en autorité, puissance et influence dans ce monde.
