Your Age Does Not Matter in Serving God's Purpose for your Life, Part Two / Votre âge n'a pas d'importance quand il s'agit de servir le dessein de Dieu pour votre vie, Deuxième Partie

2 Chronicles 34:1-2:

"Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left."

From time past and even today, God uses people of all age to accomplish His purpose. He used Jeremiah, He used Moses, He wants to use you. 

Josiah was eight years old when he began reigning in Judah. Before getting to the age of thirty, he had already made great impact in Judah. We saw yesterday that one of his strength was that, Josiah sought the Lord and purpose to walk in the ways of God. 

Another strength of Josiah's impact is that he discovered his purpose in the Bible. In the course of repairing the temple, they discovered the book of the Law. "Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, that he tore his clothes." (2 Kings 22:11). 

We cannot over emphasize the importance of reading the Bible when it comes to making lasting impact. In it we discover great truths and principles that helps us to make exploits and impact for God. Such was the case of Josiah. Why did he then tear his clothes? 

The revelations Josiah got from the Bible (The Book of the Law) shocked him. His name was in the Bible. A prophet whose name the Bible withheld gave a prophecy many years before the birth of Josiah. 1 Kings 13:1-2 says, "And behold, a man of God went from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord, and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. Then he cried out against the altar by the word of the Lord, and said, “O altar, altar! Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, a child, Josiah by name, shall be born to the house of David; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and men’s bones shall be burned on you.’"

Josiah found his name and his purpose in the Bible. That gave him great courage to continue his reforms. "Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant." (2 Kings 23:3).

You can also find your purpose in the book. Your name may not have been mentioned like that of Josiah, but you can be inspired from the stories in the Bible. You can receive a vision and an insight through the stories of the Bible. Keep reading it and purpose to practice what the Lord shows you. You will matter to this generation.

2 Chroniques 34 :1-2

« Josias avait huit ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna trente et un ans à Jérusalem. Et il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, et marcha dans les voies de son père David; il ne s'est détourné ni à droite ni à gauche. »

Depuis des temps anciens et encore aujourd’hui, Dieu utilise des personnes de tout âge pour accomplir son dessein. Il a utilisé Jérémie, Il a utilisé Moïse, Il veut vous utiliser. 

Josias avait huit ans lorsqu'il commença à régner sur Juda. Avant d’avoir trente ans, il avait déjà eu une grande influence en Juda. Nous avons vu hier que l’une de ses forces résidait dans le fait que Josias cherchait le Seigneur et avait pour objectif de marcher dans les voies de Dieu. 

Une autre force de l'impact de Josias est qu'il a découvert son appel dans la Bible. Au cours de la réparation du temple, ils découvrirent le livre de la Loi. « Or, lorsque le roi entendit les paroles du livre de la Loi, il déchira ses vêtements. » (2 Rois 22:11). Nous ne saurions trop insister sur l’importance de la lecture de la Bible lorsqu’il s’agit d’avoir un impact durable. Nous y découvrons de grandes vérités et principes qui nous aident à réaliser des exploits et à avoir un impact pour Dieu. Tel fut le cas de Josias. Pourquoi a-t-il alors déchiré ses vêtements ? 

Les révélations que Josias a reçues de la Bible (le Livre de la Loi) l’ont choqué. Son nom était dans la Bible. Un prophète dont la Bible a caché le nom a donné une prophétie plusieurs années avant la naissance de Josias. 1 Rois 13 :1-2 dit : « Et voici, un homme de Dieu partit de Juda à Béthel, par la parole de l'Éternel, et Jéroboam se tenait près de l'autel pour offrir de l'encens. Alors il cria contre l'autel par la parole. du Seigneur, et dit : "Ô autel, autel ! Ainsi parle le Seigneur : " Voici, un enfant, nommé Josias, naîtra à la maison de David ; et il sacrifiera sur toi les prêtres des hauts lieux qui brûlent de l'encens sur toi, et des os d'hommes seront brûlés sur toi. »

Josias a trouvé son nom et son appel dans la Bible. Cela lui a donné beaucoup de courage pour poursuivre ses réformes. « Alors le roi se tint près d'une colonne et fit une alliance devant l'Éternel, de suivre l'Éternel et de garder ses commandements, ses témoignages et ses statuts, de tout son cœur et de toute son âme, pour accomplir les paroles de cette alliance qui étaient écrits dans ce livre. Et tout le peuple prit position pour l'alliance. » (2 Rois 23:3). 

Vous pouvez également trouver votre appel/but dans le livre. Votre nom n’a peut-être pas été mentionné comme celui de Josias, mais vous pouvez vous inspirer des histoires de la Bible. Vous pouvez recevoir une vision et une revelation à travers les histoires de la Bible. Continuez à la lire et essayez de mettre en pratique ce que le Seigneur vous montre. Vous compterez pour cette génération.
