Psalms 23:4
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
I used to be very much afraid of large rivers, talk less of seas and oceans. I am sure I have a friend reading who feels the same. I struggled to learn how to swim. Though I am not perfect in swimming, I had to confront the fear of water by getting into the water itself with a strategy to overcome or conquer it.
Friends, you cannot conquer you fears by trying to avoid or ignore them. You must face your fears with higher truths or facts. The only way to conquer the fear of water is to get into the water with the ability to swim.
We are mostly afraid of what we do not know, what we do not understand, what we do not master. Once we have the knowledge or understanding, it dissolves our fears.
Most people are naturally afraid of death. Any situation that exposes man to death generates fear in our hearts. But David boldly said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”
Why will David not fear in a situation when naturally all men under the same conditions should fear? David had other truths and revelations that were governing his mind:
1. The knowledge of the presence of God. “For You are with me;”
2. The knowledge of the Promise of God. “Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
The rod and the staff can also stand for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You see, because of those truths, David could not fear where and when others were all afraid.
The same applies with when David confronted giant Goliath, the tall, expert and experienced warrior. God's presence and promise made the difference. While the Israelites army was afraid of the giant, David came against him in the name of the Lord and he was able to defeat Goliath.
What are your fear? Write them down. Now, can you secure a passage of the scripture to stand on? Confess it and move on; and the watch how the Lord helps you to overcome. All you need is God's presence and his promise.
He says, fear not.
“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” Isaiah 43:1-3.
Confront and conquer that fear with God's word. You can do it through Him who strengthens you. Hallelujah!

Avant, j'avais très peur des grands fleuves, parlons moins des mers et des océans. Je suis sûr que j'ai un ami qui lit et qui ressent la même chose. J'ai eu du mal à apprendre à nager. Même si je ne suis pas parfait en natation, j'ai dû affronter la peur de l'eau en entrant dans l'eau elle-même avec une stratégie pour la vaincre ou la conquérir.
Mes amis, vous ne pouvez pas vaincre vos peurs en essayant de les éviter ou de les ignorer. Vous devez affronter vos peurs avec des vérités ou des faits supérieurs. La seule façon de vaincre la peur de l’eau c'est d’entrer dans l’eau avec la capacité de nager.
Nous avons surtout peur de ce que nous ne connaissons pas, de ce que nous ne comprenons pas, de ce que nous ne maîtrisons pas. Une fois que nous avons la connaissance ou la compréhension, cela dissout nos peurs.
La plupart des gens ont naturellement peur de la mort. Toute situation qui expose l’homme à la mort génère la peur dans nos cœurs. Mais David dit hardiment : « Oui, même si je marche dans la vallée de l'ombre de la mort, je ne craindrai aucun mal. » Pourquoi David n’aura-t-il pas peur dans une situation où, naturellement, tous les hommes, dans les mêmes conditions, devraient avoir peur ? David avait d’autres vérités et révélations qui régissaient son esprit :
1. La connaissance de la présence de Dieu. « Car tu es avec moi; »
2. La connaissance de la Promesse de Dieu. « Ta houlette et Ton bâton, ils me réconfortent. » La houlette et le bâton peuvent également servir de guide comme le Saint-Esprit.
Vous voyez, à cause de ces vérités, David ne pouvait pas avoir peur là où et quand les autres avaient tous peur.
La même chose s’applique lorsque David affronta le géant Goliath, le grand guerrier expert et expérimenté. La présence et la promesse de Dieu ont fait la différence. Alors que l’armée des israélites avait peur du géant, David s’est opposé à lui au nom du Seigneur et il a pu vaincre Goliath.
Quelle sont vos peurs ? Notez les. Maintenant, pouvez-vous obtenir un passage de l’Écriture sur lequel vous appuyer ? Declarez-le et avancez; et regardez comment le Seigneur vous aide à vaincre. Tout ce dont vous avez besoin c'est de la présence de Dieu et de sa promesse. Il dit : n'ayez crainte. « Mais maintenant, ainsi parle le Seigneur, qui t'a créé, ô Jacob, et celui qui t'a formé, ô Israël : "Ne crains rien, car je t'ai racheté ; je t'ai appelé par ton nom ; tu es à moi. Quand vous Traverserez les eaux, je serai avec vous ; et les rivières ne vous déborderont pas. Si vous marchez dans le feu, vous ne serez pas brûlé, et la flamme ne vous brûlera pas. Car je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu, Le Saint d’Israël, votre Sauveur. » Ésaïe 43 : 1-3.
Affrontez et surmontez cette peur avec la parole de Dieu. Vous pouvez pas le faire par Celui qui vous fortifie. Alléluia!
