And The Lord Appeared to Solomon In A Dream / Et le Seigneur apparut à Salomon dans un rêve

I Kings 3:3‭-‬5:

“And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David... Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, "Ask! What shall I give you? ”

There are encounters and encounters. There are such encounters that happen once in one's life and that happens to very few people. Solomon was privileged to have such and encounter that God appeared to him in a dream by night. We are not given the description of the dream, whether it was like a vision or an angel of God's presence. That is not what matters. The important thing is that God appeared to Solomon and talked with him. Hallelujah!

What led to or orchestrated such an encounter? 

1. Solomon loved the Lord. 

2. Solomon walked in the ways of his father David, whom in turn walk in the ways of God. 

3. Solomon offered a thousand offering on the altar. That is a thousand cows to God. Waoooo! Can you imagine that.

And see what happens next! 

“At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” (1 Kings 3:5). 

There are sacrifices that moves God's heart. Remember we said God has emotions. He can be pleased by a man's action. And this action of Solomon pleased the Lord. Couple with the fact that Solomon loved the Lord, Solomon walked in the statutes of his father David.

Friends, there are things we do that pleases God. Under the New Covenant, there are sacrifices we offer to God that moves His heart. It pleases Him.

1. Offering our lives first. Heaven rejoices over one sinner that repents. 

2. Living a dedicated life pleases God. Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” The word "service" used here is also translated as "worship". The sacrifice that pleases God is the offering and dedication of yourself to God. 

3. Our praises and testimonies. Look at this verse, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15).

4. Giving Him thanks. Thanksgiving goes with an offering. And God said, “Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation” (Psalms 50:23).

And Solomon experienced the Salvation of God. 

Friend, seek to honour God. It will spare you from some requests you have right now, because as you honour God, Himself will take care of you and your matters. Solomon just gave his sacrifice and God appeared to him with a blank check for him to fill. Hallelujah! May God grant you such an encounter during this season.

« Et Salomon aimait l'Éternel, marchant dans les statuts de son père David... Salomon offrit mille holocaustes sur cet autel. À Gabaon, l'Éternel apparut à Salomon dans un rêvez la nuit ; et Dieu dit : «Demandez ! Que dois-je te donner ? »

Il y a rencontre et des rencontres. Il y a de telles rencontres qui arrivent une fois dans la vie et qui arrivent à très peu de gens. Salomon a eu le privilège d'avoir une telle rencontre que Dieu lui est apparu dans un rêve la nuit. On ne nous donne pas la description du rêve, s'il s'agissait d'une vision ou d'un ange de la présence de Dieu. Ce n’est pas ce qui compte. L’important est que Dieu soit apparu à Salomon et lui ait parlé. Alléluia! 

Qu’est-ce qui a conduit ou orchestré une telle rencontre ? 

1. Salomon aimait le Seigneur. 

2. Salomon a suivi les voies de son père David, qui à son tour a suivi les voies de Dieu. 

3. Salomon offrit mille offrandes sur l'autel. Cela représente mille vaches pour Dieu. Waoooo ! Pouvez-vous imaginer ça?

Et voyez ce qui s'est passé ensuite !

 « À Gabaon, l'Éternel apparut à Salomon dans un rêve pendant la nuit ; et Dieu dit : « Demande ! Que dois-je te donner ? » (1 Rois 3:5). 

Il y a des sacrifices qui touchent le cœur de Dieu. Rappelez-vous que nous avons dit que Dieu a des émotions. Il peut être satisfait de l'action d'un homme. Et cette action de Salomon plut au Seigneur. En plus du fait que Salomon aimait le Seigneur, et que Salomon marchait selon les statuts de son père David. 

Mes amis, il y a des choses que nous faisons qui plaisent à Dieu. Dans le cadre de la Nouvelle Alliance, nous pouvons offrir à Dieu des sacrifices qui touchent son cœur. Cela Lui plaît. 

1. Offrir nos vies en premier. Le ciel se réjouit d'un pécheur qui se repent. 

2. Vivre une vie consacrée plaît à Dieu. Romains 12 : 1 dit : « Je vous exhorte donc, frères, par les compassions de Dieu, à offrir vos corps comme un sacrifice vivant, saint, agréable à Dieu, ce qui sera de votre part un service raisonnable. »

Le mot « service » utilisé ici est également traduit par « culte ou adoration ». 

Le sacrifice qui plaît à Dieu est l’offrande et la dédicace de soi à Dieu.

3. Nos louanges et témoignages. Regardez ce verset : « C'est pourquoi, par lui, offrons continuellement à Dieu un sacrifice de louange, c'est-à-dire le fruit de nos lèvres, rendant grâces à son nom » (Hébreux 13 :15). 

4. Lui rendre grâce. L'Action de Grâce s'accompagne d'une offrande. Et Dieu dit : « Ceux qui sacrifient des offrandes de remerciement m'honorent, et aux innocents je montrerai mon salut » (Psaume 50:23). 

Et Salomon connut le salut de Dieu. 

Ami, cherchez à honorer Dieu. Cela vous épargnera certaines prière que vous avez en ce moment, car si vous honorez Dieu, Lui-même prendra soin de vous et de vos affaires. Salomon donna son sacrifice et Dieu lui apparut avec un chèque en blanc à remplir. Alléluia! 

Que Dieu vous accorde une telle rencontre en cette saison.
