Understanding and Revealing the Glory of God (Part One) / Comprendre et Révéler la Gloire de Dieu (Première Partie)

‭Isaiah 40:5

"The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken."

We are starting a very powerful topic topic, the glory of God. This is one of the major concerns of God in the Bible, revealing His glory. In our opening text, God predicted the a time when His glory shall be seen by all flesh. I believe this is that time. You are among the privileged ones to have received the glory of God and to show it to the world. The Bible says, that Christ in you, the hope of glory. As our text reveals it, God's plan and desire is to fill the earth with the knowledge of His glory. ‭Habakkuk 2:14 is also of the same opinion.

"For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea."

For today, let us understand some fundamental truths about glory and the glory of God. 

1. There are different dimensions of glory.

We have the glory of man, the glory of this world, the glory of elements in creation such as the sun, moon and other stars and so on. But the glory of God surpasses them all those glories.

2. Everything about God is glorious. 

His name, His word, His works, His kingdom... God is the king of glory, the Lord of glory (Psalm 24: 7-10)

3. God is worthy of all glory. 

Revelation 4:11says, 

"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

The last thing to understand is that, 

4. God is very jealous of His glory. 

He is very clear in Isaiah 42: 8:

"I am the LORD (YHWH), that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images."

God is a jealous God. He will not mix with idols nor any other thing. If you are for God, really be for God. Don't mix with other things and you expect God to still be with you. You cannot trust other things and expect God to save you. Either you are all for Him or you are not at all for Him.

Also, because of His glory, God can never abandon His own people. The same Isaiah says, 

"I will rescue you for my sake— yes, for my own sake! I will not let my reputation be tarnished, and I will not share my glory with idols!" (Isaiah 48:11 NLT)

God will do everything to fight for His church, His people and His kingdom, because of His glory. Hallelujah! If you are totally for Him, expect Him to fight for you, as He did for Daniel and his companions, for David, Paul and the rest. He will save you, because of His glory in you. Hallelujah!!

Ésaïe 40:5

"La gloire du Seigneur sera révélée, et toute chair la verra ensemble; Car la bouche du Seigneur a parlé."

Nous commençons un sujet très puissant, la gloire de Dieu. C’est l’une des préoccupations majeures de Dieu dans la Bible, révéler sa gloire. 

Dans notre texte d’ouverture, Dieu a prédit un moment où sa gloire sera vue par toute chair. Je crois que voici ce moment. Vous faites partie des privilégiés à avoir reçu la gloire de Dieu et à la montrer au monde. La Bible dit que Christ est en vous, l'espérance de la gloire. 

Comme le révèle notre texte, le plan et le désir de Dieu sont de remplir la terre de la connaissance de sa gloire. Habacuc 2:14 est également du même avis. 

"Car la terre sera remplie de la connaissance de la gloire du Seigneur, Comme les eaux couvrent la mer."

Pour aujourd’hui, comprenons quelques vérités fondamentales sur la gloire et la gloire de Dieu. 

1. Il existe différentes dimensions de la gloire.

Nous avons la gloire de l’homme, la gloire de ce monde, la gloire des éléments de la création comme le soleil, la lune et d’autres étoiles, etc. Mais la gloire de Dieu les surpasse toutes ces gloires. 

2. Tout en Dieu est glorieux. 

Son nom, sa parole, ses œuvres, son royaume... Dieu est le Roi de gloire, le Seigneur de gloire (Psaume 24 : 7-10) 

3. Dieu est digne de toute gloire. 

Apocalypse 4:11 dit : 

"Tu es digne, ô Seigneur, De recevoir gloire, honneur et puissance ; Car Tu as créé toutes choses, Et par Ta volonté elles existent et ont été créées."

La dernière chose à comprendre, c'est que 

4. Dieu est très jaloux de sa gloire. 

Il est très clair dans Isaïe 42 : 8 : 

"Je suis l'Éternel (YHWH), c'est mon nom ; et je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre, ni ma louange aux images taillées."

Dieu est un Dieu jaloux. Il ne se mêlera pas aux idoles ni à aucune autre chose. Si vous êtes pour Dieu, soyez vraiment pour Dieu. Ne vous mélangez pas à d'autres choses et vous vous attendez à ce que Dieu soit toujours avec vous. Vous ne pouvez pas faire confiance à d’autres choses et espérer que Dieu vous sauve. Soit vous êtes entièrement pour Lui, soit vous n’êtes pas du tout pour Lui. 

De plus, à cause de sa gloire, Dieu ne peut jamais abandonner son peuple. Le même Esaïe dit :

 "Je te délivrerai à cause de moi, oui, à cause de moi-même ! Je ne laisserai pas ma réputation être ternie, et je ne partagerai pas ma gloire avec les idoles !" (Ésaïe 48 : 11 NLT) 

Dieu fera tout pour combattre pour Son église, Son peuple et Son royaume, à cause de Sa gloire. Alléluia! Si vous êtes totalement pour Lui, attendez-vous à ce qu’Il combatte pour vous, comme Il l’a fait pour Daniel et ses compagnons, pour David, Paul et les autres. Il vous sauvera, à cause de sa gloire en vous. Alléluia!!
