Launch out into the deep and cast your nets for a catch

Luke 5:4

"When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.""

Are you tired of labouring without corresponding results? Let Jesus into your boat. When I read this story of Peter's' encounter with Jesus, my first question was. How did Jesus locate the boat of Simon Peter and not another boat? (V3).

What I got in my spirit was, God knows each of us by name. He knows our addresses, our activities and the struggles we are battling with. In Isaiah 43:1-2, we read:

"But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you."

God knows how much you struggled in the past without fruits. He knows us and has a plan for each of us. This year, let Jesus take over your boat. 

After Simon allowed Jesus Christ to use His boat, standing in it to teach, Jesus Christ now told him:

"Lunch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."

Beloved, when Jesus shows up in our lives, it is not just to give us eternal life, but to make a difference. He wants to change everything in our lives. But we must be willing and ready to listen to Him and do what He says. This year, lunch out into the deep with Jesus Christ. 

Lunching into the deep (waters) meant for Simon, going into areas that he had no control of, no mastery. 

In Verse 5, Simon tried to argue with Jesus Christ, but he quickly realised that he wasn't dealing with an ordinary man. 

Friends, we need to let go of our human wisdom and methods and adopt the wisdom and methods of God.

Simon said, “At your word, I will cast the nets”.  

What is Jesus telling you to do this year? About your life, family, business, organisation? 

Simon's boat represented: 

1. His world, His life was centred around the boat and the sea. 

2. His life. Simon spent his days and energy there. He was not thinking beyond. 

3. The boat represented his family. Simon's family fed from there. He was there with his brother.  

4. The boat was his organization with his workers and partners. That was his company.

5. The boat was his profession; that is all that he knew to do. 

6. His activities.  

Friends. We Jesus comes into our lives, His aim is to make a difference in our lives. 

Jesus Christ is the wisdom and power of God. He is the hope of mankind. He is the Saviour, the restoration of lost hope. He represents a new beginning. 

Simon was about to have a new beginning, a different life altogether, from fisherman to fisher of men. But he needed to let Jesus into his boat, and then follow Jesus' instructions. Do the same today. Let Him into your boat. Listen and obey His instructions. And you will not miss the results this year.

"Quand il eut fini de parler, il dit à Simon : "avance dans les profondeurs et jette tes filets pour pêcher.""

Êtes-vous fatigué de travailler sans résultats correspondants ? Laissez Jésus monter dans votre bateau. 

Quand j'ai lu cette histoire de la rencontre de Pierre avec Jésus, ma première question était. Comment Jésus a-t-il localisé le bateau de Simon Pierre et non un autre bateau ? (V3). Ce que j’ai eu dans mon esprit, c’est que Dieu connaît chacun de nous par notre nom. Il connaît nos adresses, nos activités et les difficultés auxquelles nous sommes confrontés. 

Dans Ésaïe 43 :1-2, nous lisons : 

"Mais maintenant, ainsi parle l'Éternel, qui t'a créé, ô Jacob, Et Celui qui t'a formé, ô Israël : "Ne crains pas, car je t'ai racheté ; Je t'ai appelé par ton nom ; Tu es à moi. 2 Quand tu traverseras les eaux, je serai avec toi ; Et à travers les fleuves, ils ne te déborderont pas. Si tu marches à travers le feu, tu ne sera pas brûlé, et la flamme ne te brûlera pas."

Dieu sait combien vous avez lutté dans le passé sans fruits. Il nous connaît et Il a un plan pour chacun de nous. Cette année, laisses Jésus reprendre ton bateau. Après que Simon ait permis à Jésus-Christ d’utiliser son bateau et de s’y tenir pour enseigner, Jésus-Christ lui dit alors : 

"Avance dans les profondeurs et jetes tes filets pour attraper."

Bien-aimés, lorsque Jésus s'introduit dans nos vies, ce n’est pas seulement pour nous donner la vie éternelle, mais pour faire une différence. Il veut tout changer dans nos vies. Mais nous devons être disposés et prêts à l’écouter et à faire ce qu’il dit. Cette année, avance dans les profondeurs avec Jésus-Christ.

Avancer dans les eaux profondes signifiait pour Simon entrer dans des zones sur lesquelles il n'avait aucun contrôle, et aucune maîtrise. 

Au verset 5, Simon a essayé de discuter avec Jésus-Christ, mais il s'est vite rendu compte qu'il n'avait pas affaire à un homme ordinaire. 

Mes amis, nous devons abandonner notre sagesse et nos méthodes humaines et adopter la sagesse et les méthodes de Dieu. Simon dit : « Sur ta parole, je jetterai les filets ». 

Qu’est-ce que Jésus vous dit de faire cette année ? À propos de ta vie, de ta famille, de ton entreprise, de ton organisation ? 

Le bateau de Simon représentait : 

1. Son monde, sa vie était centrée autour du bateau et de la mer.

2. Sa vie. Simon y passait ses journées et son énergie. Il ne pensait pas au-delà. 

3. Le bateau représentait sa famille. La famille de Simon s'en nourrissait. Il était là avec son frère.  

4. Le bateau était son organisation avec ses ouvriers et partenaires. C'était sa compagnie.

5. Le bateau était son métier ; c'est tout ce qu'il savait faire. 

6. Ses activités. 

Mes Amis, quand Jésus, viens dans nos vies, son objectif est de faire une différence dans nos vies. Jésus-Christ est la sagesse et la puissance de Dieu. Il est l'espoir de l'humanité. Il est le Sauveur, le rétablissement de l'espoir perdu. Il représente un nouveau départ. 

Simon était sur le point de connaître un nouveau départ, une vie tout à fait différente, de pêcheur à pêcheur d'hommes. Mais il devait laisser Jésus monter dans son bateau, puis suivre les instructions de Jésus. Faits la même chose aujourd'hui. Laisse-le monter dans ton bateau. Écoutes et obéis à ses instructions. Et tu ne manqueras pas les résultats cette année. 

Que Dieu bénisse ta journée.
